McDonald has a Bachelor of Arts in economics and business administration from University of Georgia.[3] He currently serves on University of Georgia’s Board of Advisors for Terry College of Business.[4]
Darryl McDonald joined NCR Corporation in 1982. From 1997 to 2003, he was Vice President, Americas Retail Industry for the Teradata division of NCR. Before his current position as CMO, McDonald was Vice President, Global Consulting Services for the Teradata division of NCR from 2003 to 2007.[5] McDonald played a major role in the Teradata acquisition of Aster Data.[6]
McDonald sits on the senior advisory board for the Teradata University Network,[7] is a Partners Steering Committee member for Teradata's national conference,[8] and maintains the company blog, Vision 2.0.[9]
McDonald writes articles and gives interviews,[10] and speaks at conferences on the socialization of data, the data used in online social networks,[11] and the future of data scientists.[12] He maintains and writes articles for his website, Socialization of Data.
McDonald raises money for non-profit organizations as a member of the Distinguished Clown Corp.[3]
